Designing for a Volvo community

BETA is a design concept aimed to build community around the Volvo brand - allowing customers to try out new products and services through joining different events, experiments and engaging content. The scope was to make Volvo customers feel part of developing Volvo products and services, letting customer insights drive the direction.

The concept was designed over a 3 month period while working for the Volvo product LABS team. BETA was built on the hypothesis that customers want to be engaged in the development of new products and that there's many different ways of interactively enabling users to be part of sharing what they want to see in the future of Volvo. Another key was to speed up research and thereby increase the success of user driven design decicions .   

BETA involved UX/UI design for content such as surveys, videos and invitations to early bird offers which were targeted to different audiences in the world of Volvo. The concept was adapted for both web and mobile to be further evaluated in a proof of concept.
