Designing for research collaboration

Mesearchr is a cloud-based collaboration tool for researchers. It enables them to continiously add to their ongoing projects and share the work across often widespread teams.

The architecture of the existing product was the first thing that was redesigned to better fit the work style of the personas in the research realm. Easy access to both workspaces and projects with improved timelines, deadlines, and drag-and-drop were a few of the things that were changed as well as the overall layout, color scheme, and visual impression.

The design work was mostly done in Sketch, Illustrator, and Photoshop. For testing and verification, we used Google analytics for quantitative analysis and Hotjar for heatmaps and screen recordings.
